The RLCC, in conjunction with the Birmingham Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2008 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Along with the new calendar year, the RLCC also has changed its hours of operation. On Monday and Tuesday the RLCC will open at 12 noon instead of 2 p.m. The hours of operation will remain the same for Wednesday-Friday. On Saturday, the RLCC will open at 1 p.m. Hours of operation for Sunday will remain the same.
In a earlier post I discussed a website called, Learn2Type. There is another website that I would like to mention and that is Keybr.com. It is a simple touch type practice tool that shows you how fast and error free your typing is through a series of exercises. Keybr.com is free to use and doesn’t require a sign-up. Here is a screenshot:
We are the staff of the Regional Library Computer Center and this is our blog. The RLCC is on the third floor of the Linn Henley Research Building of the Birmingham Public Library.
The RLCC has 21 computers available for the public to use. There is an hour time limit and patrons do need to have their library card number in order to log in to the computers. If you don’t have a card, you can get one! They’re Free!
