The East Building of the Birmingham Public Library’s Central Branch has now returned to regular business hours. The building reduced its opening to the public for several weeks, because it did not have air conditioning, due to damaged coils in the HVAC units. Beginning Saturday, June 21, the branch, located in Downtown Birmingham, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sundays. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the library will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays.
No information is available at this time on when proctoring services and free computer classes will resume.
