Proctoring

As part of the Birmingham Public Library’s mission to provide the highest quality library service to our citizens for lifelong learning, cultural enrichment and enjoyment, free proctoring services are offered to students for written or online examinations. All proctoring services are done at the Computer Commons, located on the third floor of the East Building.

The service is based on the availability of personnel and must not compromise other library services. The Birmingham Public Library reserves the right to deny proctoring requests beyond the library’s or department’s ability to administer.

Due to proctor availability, we currently only proctor on Wednesday.  Proctoring requests must be made a minimum of 3 (three) days prior to the exam date. There may be two (2) to four (4) days response time for online inquiry forms. It is also the student’s responsibility to make any and all arrangements for the exam. Please review the PUBLIC COMPUTER SERVICES EXAM PROCTORING GUIDELINES prior to taking your exam.

You may inquire about or request proctoring services by filling out this form:

You may also find other libraries who offer proctoring services via the Public Libraries in Jefferson County resources.
